Qualified electronic time stamps
Technical requirements for setting up the service
The communication between the client requesting a timestamp and the time authority server is on-line in the request ⇔ reply mode.
To communicate with the time stamp authority and work with time stamps, I.CA provides its clients with:
- I.CA QTSA client application for Windows environment, which allows obtaining a timestamp for a specific document or file. It is suitable for issuing a timestamp individually by an end user. It stores the time stamp in TimeStampToken (TST) or TimeStampResponse (TSR) format.
- Line/batch client sets - C, Java platform
- DLLs - DLLs are available for Windows and Unix environments. They are intended to be integrated into custom systems for automated use of the time authority service.
- The library for the Linux operating system, comes as a native library in both 32 bit and 64 bit versions, including the necessary files and other supporting libraries. A test application is supplied at the same time.
Another way is to process the data structure itself, this use requires knowledge of the timestamp standard which, among other things, defines the timestamp data structure (RFC 3161). In doing so, the Timestamp Issuance Policy must be followed .
