I.CA issues qualified certificates that are intended for communication with public authorities and commercial certificates that are used for encryption, and where qualified certificates are not required. The certificate and the associated electronic signature creation data may be placed directly on the computer or on a smart card. A certified smart card is required for creation of qualified electronic signature.
