Before the expiration of the certificate, the user is always informed electronically about the end of validity of the certificate and has the possibility to apply the issue of another, so-called subsequent certificate. By using a valid certificate, it then creates an electronic application that is processed by a certification authority. The client receives the subsequent certificate after paying the fee electronically, as in the case of the initial certificate.

The whole process is done electronically and no visit to the ICA Registration Authority is required.
